‘Provisioning’ my virtual development machine just resulted in a Fatal Error.
Fatal error: Call to undefined function json_decode()
… to find out that this is because of a license conflict.
JSON License:
“The Software shall be used for Good, not Evil.”
This is incompatible with Debians Free Software Foundation’s (FSF) freedom 0:
“The freedom to run the program for any purpose.”
Now my wooden shoe breaks! (?)
Here you can find a solution against this obvious fatality.
Edit: The solution above didn’t work for me. Adding jsonc as follows in my /puphpet/config.yml file did the trick:
php:
install: ‘1’
settings:
version: ’56’
modules:
php:
– cli
– intl
– curl
– gd
pear: { }
pecl:
– jsonc
I really loved Joomla! in its early days. I still remember working with Mambo CMS. 🙂 Yesterday Joomla 3.5 came out. Is it me or are the new features really dissapointing? Personally I think Joomla! is in an identity crisis. Is it about content? Is it about managing a website? Is it a platform? It’s a bit everything, thus nothing? This raises questions like:
What is a CMS nowadays?
Is it still about the content?
Why is WordPress so popular?
Will content manage solutions like prismic.io and contentful.com survive?
Can we discover any trends?
I don’t have the answers, the question has enough value for now (for me at least). Feel free to share your thoughts though!
About Joomla 3.5… I tried to find a more complete list of the features, but the documentation wasn’t up to date yet. :-(.
Interesting new data and look on ‘our’ future jobs…
Interesting movie about our future jobs, or actually more about how we will lose them. Don’t worry, you’re special – just as I am. 🙂
Love to hear from you if you have any thoughts on this or any possible ‘solutions’.
